WELCOME

We adore the World Series of Poker every single year, and after visiting Las Vegas to attend the event in 2009, we decided to create a fan site celebrating the game, and the series of tournaments. Browse around, and we'll give you all the info we have on the hottest series of poker tournaments around in 2009.
World Series of Poker 2009

Laurens De Smet

Laurens De Smet Laurens De Smet made his first World Series of Poker Main Event appearence in 2009. Even though he busted out fairly quickly on day 2 (level 4), quite a few professional players mentioned he caught their attention. With an extremely strong laydown (AQ on a AQ3 flop - obviously against a flopped set) while sitting next to Erik Seidel, even the Professionals saw the Belgian youngster as a true contender.

When Day 2 came to an end, however, Laurens ran into a dry spell and quickly lost 3 big pots in a very short timespan.

Even though Laurens didn't catch any real camera-time, it's obvious a player we need to watch in Main Events from now on.

If you'd more information on Laurens, check out this Laurens De Smet Fan Site.
