Laurens De Smet made his first World Series of Poker Main Event appearence in 2009. Even though he busted out fairly quickly on day 2 (level 4), quite a few professional players
mentioned he caught their attention. With an extremely strong laydown (AQ on a AQ3 flop - obviously against a flopped set) while sitting next to
Erik Seidel, even the Professionals
saw the Belgian youngster as a true contender.
When Day 2 came to an end, however, Laurens ran into a dry spell and quickly lost 3 big pots in a very short timespan.
Even though Laurens didn't catch any real camera-time, it's obvious a player we need to watch in Main Events from now on.
