World Series of Poker 2009

Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu is a native of Canada. Daniel has won multiple honors in poker including four World Series of Pokers bracelets and two World Poker Tour championships. His earnings are only second to Phil Ivey on the all time earnings list. His card prowess has allowed him to gain other honors including Cardplayer's player of the year award for the year 2004.

Daniel Negreanu Daniel quickly worked his way up while he was still a teenager. Starting at the young age of 16 Daniel went to pool halls and gambling clubs in the city of Toronto, Canada. He found games wherever he could in order to hone his skill. Finally he dropped out of high school. This allowed him to work on his poker skill full time. At the age of 22 Daniel moved out to Las Vegas. However, Vegas got the best of him and he was forced to move back to his home town of Toronto, Ontario. Here he renewed his bank roll.

After spending several years in Toronto Daniel came back. This time his chapter started at the Foxwood Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In 1997 he won two events at the World Poker Finals totaling over $50,000. While this was a great amount to start with it was not his only win. Negreanu won the 1998 World Series of Poker $2,000 hold em' event with over $169,000. The Wynn Las Vegas and Full Contact Poker have sponsored Daniel Negreanu in various ways. Wynn Las Vegas hired Daniel as their poker ambassador authorizing him to play for any stakes in their poker rooms. Daniel opted out of this contract as he felt it was too restrictive.

Full Contract Poker was a site run by Daniel Negreanu. He held contests that included finding his protege who he would help to train for poker play. Daniel held this promotion twice. In 2007 Daniel along with Chris Moneymaker, and several other well known poker celebrities signed with Poker Stars. After this signing Full Contract Poker ceased to operate as a semi-poker room website. Instead it now hosts a blog and message board about poker. Daniel Negreanu is constantly challenging himself in both poker and in other aspects of his life. He is currently attempting to build a $10 bankroll into a $100,000 bankroll on Poker Stars. He also enjoys playing golf with the likes of Doyle Brunson and David Benyamine and lives with his beautiful wife Lori Lin Weber in Las Vegas, Nevada.
